You are joining Australia’s leading Hunting and Conservation Organisation - with 50 years of service to Hunters, Target Shooters and Conservation Projects. This is an innovative and friendly organisation. We are sure you will enjoy being a member.

As members of the FGA National Organisation you are automatically part of one FGA Branch. You have direct and welcome access to more than 60 other FGA Branches.

Members of your immediate family may enjoy membership of FGA at a greatly reduced rate.
Genuine Reason
FGA Membership and participation in the activities of an FGA Branch satisfies the “genuine reason” requirements of your firearms license in all states. It is important to maintain your membership from year to year. Genuine reason audits are becoming more frequent.
Representation & Advocacy
FGA Board Members, Staff, and Skilled Branch Members invest thousands of hours on your behalf, liaising with Governments, Media and Key Decision-Making Agencies. FGA has high political credibility.
FGA Representatives are seen as effective advocates and responsible negotiators, not single-issue ‘table thumpers’.
Game Management
Field and Game Australia represents you on Game Management Advisory Committees especially in Victoria, NSW and Tasmania. Through these processes, ongoing survival of species and increased opportunities for hunters will be achieved.
Participation and Access
As an FGA Member you have access to a range of information and assistance to build your advocacy skills and build your participation or field work skills.
$20 Million Insurance
$20 million public liability cover is extended to all your accredited shooting activities - target shooting and hunting.
Firearm Insurance
Firearms are notoriously hard to insure. FGA members enjoy free insurance on one firearm and pay just $10 per gun per year for other firearms they own. Cover is limited with a maximum repair or replacement benefit of $600 per claim (conditions apply).
Good Advice
Free advice on anything is getting hard to come by. As an FGA Member advice on important issues relating to licensing issues and hunting activities is just a phone call or email message away.
Around The Traps
All members of FGA hold a Simulated Field Handicap Card. You may enjoy competitive and social clay target shooting at over 45 simulated field shooting grounds across the country.
These are safe, controlled facilities for practicing skills and teaching those skills to younger members of your family.
Mud on your Hands
FGA is Australia’s leading wetland conservation group undertaking work in some of our most endangered habitats.
