2010 SA DUCK SEASON ANNOUNCED
South Australian Duck Hunters will enjoy a longer season with a larger bag limit in 2010.
The season starts on Saturday 27 March and goes to Sunday 27 June 2010. This is almost a month longer than the 2009 season. Click here to read more...

FGA is excited about a new initiative for clay target shooters from Graham & Julie Eames, the publishers of Feathers & Fur magazine.

The introduction of  their new online eNewsletter “Clay Buster” has been especially designed to service the needs of the Simulated Field target shooters.

GAME MANAGEMENT SHORT COURSE IS ON AGAIN

The Game Management Short Course through the School of Animal Studies at University of Queensland is being offered again with a start date in February.

If you have an interest in Game Management your completed Application Form and payment must be returned by 8th February 2010.

Once your application is approved and your payment is processed you will be sent a course Learning Guide, incorporating readings and full assessment details. 

It’s anticipated the course will run from 22nd February to 17th May, 2010.  You will have 4 pieces of assessment evenly distributed during this period with the largest piece of assessment (you are required to develop a Game Management Plan for a species of your choice) due at the end of the course.  Students will be assisted to develop the Game Management Plan as a part of the course.

VIC DUCK SEASON ANNOUNCED......30 Dec 2009

The acting Minister for Environment and Climate Change Tim Holding has today announced details of the 2010 Victorian Duck Season.

The season will commence 20 March and end 30 May (72 days) - 23 days longer than 2009 season.

Bag limits have been increased for 2010 and hunters will be allowed to take five (5) ducks per bag (with a maximum of one Australasian Shoveler), plus an additional three (3) Wood Ducks.

FGA Leads the Way in Duck Research - 11 December 2009

Field and Game Australia has established a new research project that will provide important duck season information in years to come.

Field and Game Australia members collected over 600 samples from shot birds for analysis during the 2009 waterfowl season and this week every one of those samples has been studied and recorded. Read more...
